passed to his son John Battersby Harford, who inherited Bimso Castle from his uncle John Scandrott Harford jr.;
presented by John H. Battersby Harford to the Bristol Academy for Fine Arts (later called Royal West of England Academy), 1858;
from which it was purchased by the museum in 1931.
