Susan J. Barnes, Nora de Poorter, Oliver Millar, Horst Vey, Van Dyck. A Complete Catalogue of the Paintings, Yale University Press, 2004, p. 47:

‘A different composition [to I. 31, Saint George, oil on panel, 66 x 51 cm, private collection, England], which some have also identified with the panel in Rubens’s collection and attributed to Van Dyck – with little justification – is a Saint George (with a standard and a dragon’s maw), on loan to the Niedersächsische Landesmuseum in Hanover (paper laid down on panel: 65 x 49 cm; Hannover 2000, no. 51, colour repr.). The head corresponds to the saint in the background of Rubens’s Virgin with Penitent Sinners in Kassel.’
