Remark

The entry for Philip in Barnes et al. 2004, I.65 references the Larsen 1988 literature for this painting but shows the image, earlier literature and subsequent provenance of the Philip sold at Sotheby’s, London, 29 July 2020 (117), now with The Phoebus Foundation, Antwerp (see preceding entry in this Summary Catalogue), which was also with the art dealer E. A. Fleischman in Munich in 1926.
